New Jerusalem Now is a community-run grassroots organization in North Philadelphia that aims to create a healing and supportive space for people recovering from drug and alcohol addictions. Through our programs, we facilitate transformation in recovery from drug and alcohol addictions for marginalized populations by providing an affordable, spiritual and holistic approach to enhance the quality of life.
There’s an exciting day-long event on recovery spirituality for both addicts and non-(substance abusing-)addicts alike taking place this Saturday.
Facilitated by Sr. Margaret’s long-time friend, Jim McGovern, things get underway at the crack of a Saturday dawn (9:30am) over in Kensington.
Every few months around New Jerusalem Now we get really excited about a new issue of CONSP!RE magazine and the local Night of Celebration that always accompanies its release.
In the past we’ve packed into the spaces of co-Conspirators like The Simple Way, The Alternative Seminary, and Circle of Hope… but this Friday (4/29) we’ll all be gathering in New Jerusalem’s own backyard!
If you can, bring a dish to share or show up early to help us do some cooking before things get underway at 6pm.
